At Baselworld 2006, Seiko will unveil a new line of automatic watches, the Ref. SPB001, SPB003 and SPB005.
They feature the new Seiko automatic in-house caliber 6R20. This new high grade caliber is designed to place Seiko firmly in the high quality mechanical market. The 6R20 movement is made of parts, all of which except rubies, are produced and assembled by Seiko Instruments.
The movement is exquisitely finished with an engraved rotor, polished edges to the bridges and hairline shading on the main surfaces. It has 29 jewels and 208 parts. It can be hand-wound. The high beat (28,800) movement delivers an accuracy of –15 to +25 seconds a day and the Spron 510* mainspring generates a power reserve of more than 45 hours. (* Spron 510 is a high-elastic material developed by Seiko which holds the registered trademark.)
The cases are solid stainless steel with leather straps or bracelets, and mineral crystal and display back. They are water resistant to 100 meters. MSRP for the European market will be 1,050 to 1,150 Euros.
