GIRARD-PERREGAUX GP2700
Self-winding mechanical movement
With the GP2700, GIRARD-PERREGAUX introduces a small, compact movement specifically designed to equip ladies’ watches and respond to the increasing sophistication of the Manufactory’s female clientele.
Some details for the more technically-inclined:
∑ Central uni-directional winding rotor with oil-free ceramic (zirconium oxyde) ball bearings.
∑ The gear train (barrel, centre wheel, third and fourth wheel) features the original solution of a double third wheel. Thanks to this arrangement, there is no need for a large fourth wheel in the centre; this allows more space for the barrel. At the same time, it provides three ways for displaying the seconds without an additional module.
∑ The escape wheel is fitted between combined jewels.
∑ The cross-wise balance bridge allows greater precision in critical tolerances, a solution that reinforces the movement’s accuracy and long-term reliability and makes it considerably easier to adjust.
∑ The fine index adjuster has an original solution with an adjustment screw fixed to the train bridge. This unusual positioning for a more compact construction also allows for easier adjustment and servicing of the movement.
