Lady Royal
Oak Offshore Chronograph
A resolutely distinctive size, a love match between rubber and diamonds, two new colours including an ultra-chic shade of white: the Lady Royal Oak Offshore collection continues to explore extremes while displaying a consistently trendy spirit.
Precious diversions
Following in the footsteps of Katharine Hepburn, Marlene Dietrich and Greta Garbo, women have adopted masculine clothing, before going on to borrow men’s… watches. To just such delightfully impertinent and refined women of character, Audemars Piguet dedicated the 2006 addition to the Lady Royal Oak Offshore collection: a large boldly designed chronograph in a range of subtle colours. Today, the brand is enriching this line with two new colours – white and plum – and associating them with the famous “strongbox” case in pink gold or steel, as well as the rubber-moulded gem-set octagonal bezel. Thus, while clearly signalling the emergence of a new trend, these new chronographs are entirely in keeping with the daring spirit of the House.
Luminous white or intense purple?
Sublimated by pink gold and lit up by a light silver-coloured dial, the white chronograph features a rubber-moulded milky white bezel set with brilliants, creating a pristine monochrome vision further enhanced by the shimmering natural white mother-of-pearl subdials.
Intense and ultra-fashionable, the steel chronograph treats itself to the depth of a plum colour midway between the demure gravity of violet and the power of purple. It pursues this spirit by opting for a dial in the same colour, graced with silver-coloured cabochon hour markers, along with resplendently immaculate hands and minute circle.
Finally, each timepiece is complemented by a rubber strap matching the colour of the bezel, the crown and the pushers, complete with a double-blade folding clasp in pink gold or polished steel. So all that remains is to choose which of the two colours will most forcefully underscore the impetuous nature of a decidedly sophisticated look.
