Jaquet Droz Begins Construction For New Factory To Open In 2010

High luxury Swiss watchmaker Jaquet Droz has begun construction of a new facility in Cret-du-Locle, which will serve as factory and brand headquarters all in one.
The first foundation stone was laid on September 9th, in a commemorative event attended by Jaquet Droz President Manuel Emch. Also present were Nicolas G. Hayek and Nick Hayek of the Swatch Group, the conglomerate that has owned the Jaquet Droz brand since 2000, as well as such prestigious bastions of Swiss watchmaking as Breguet, Blancpain, and Omega. Construction of the Jaquet Droz manufacturing site will proceed at an ambitious pace, with completion scheduled for Summer of 2010. Located upon a land space of 6,000 square meters, the 2,500 sq. meter building will unify the manufacturing and watchmaking operations of Montres Jaquet Droz, along with the brand's management team.
According to a company press statement, the building is equipped to accommodate ninety to one hundred employees.
